Shouldn’t ungreying be for those who provide meaningful discussions, frequently?
If anybody can spare me some pain, the gif of the white 918 here, I need the video to (can’t remember the video). I need to re-make it, as it’s one I made but never posted to my car gifs blog on tumblr. Now they allow 2mb uploads...so I can make a much better version of it and be satisfied by fixing the issue with the sky there....

because they want attention

Now that the flood gates for ungreying have been open ever since the greyed system was implemented, everybody wants in.
I really, truly don’t like this system. 75% of the time the ungreyed comments have no recommendations or just one star.

most comments on the fp are just comments that have already been made, but people need to say the same thing because omg I know this fact and I want the whole world to know that I know pls give me attention

Sometimes it’s because you’re a regular on most subs but somehow not this new one that [editor’s name here] just started. When the system first started, I asked to be ungreyed, but now I can’t be arsed. Plus I usually get in greyed anyhow.

Because the whole point of a comment system is to be able to comment.
The greys aren’t the default. The greys are supposed to be for spam and people who are so shitty they should never be seen. But the way the system got implemented, pretty much everyone got stuck in the grey and now it’s almost not worth commenting because the only person who’ll ever see your comment is the person you responded to, and it’ll die a pitiful death.

Because the grey thing sucks. It's worse than down voting on reddit because you will never be seen except by the diligent.

I’m grey on FP. It lends a certain stealth to the 4 mundane comments that I’ve ever made on there.

If Gawker just implemented the Disqus commenting platform all over, our problems would be solved. Nick Denton will never have it.

It’s a way for authors to control the comment section. Less so on Jalopnik, but you’ll often find the most recommended post is buried in the grays since it disagrees with the author.

Is the gif from this one?

It does put the control in the hands of the topic creators. But as far as user replies go, we’re still able to grey and ungreyed ones. If you’re comment is greyed I’ll still reply or recommend it (because I’m diligent like that)

The scenes are correct but the video is wrong because of the watermark on the video.
Here’s the closest one I can find without it being directly form Porsche! I know this video is directly from Porsche, the editing quality of the video just screams Porsche to me.

Okay, well I was just trying to help.

I appreciate the help! The video gave me a solid direction to which channel I got it from.

No problem at all.
